The Cornerstone Seniors lost a heartbreaker Tuesday night. Heading into the seventh inning, York held a 4-2 advantage and were led by Jameson Nickels who pitched five solid innings and a solo home run by Cartson Staehr, his third of three hits on the night. However, shoddy fielding allowed Aurora to tie the game in the seventh inning at four all. Both runs in the seventh were unearned. Aaron Beins took the loss for the Bankers as he surrendered two runs in the top of the eighth as Aurora took a 6-4 lead. After Staehr’s dinger in the fifth, York was held scoreless for the final three frames. York falls to 1-5 for the year and 0-2 in league play.
Central City will play host to the Seniors tonight at 8 p.m.
