The York Juniors ended their regular season by losing 12-9 to Kearney County at Levitt Stadium. Despite an outstanding evening by Nick Weskamp who singled and doubled in three official at bats and striking out seven of nine batters in a relief appearance, the York Juniors could not offset the six runs they allowed the visitors in the fourth inning before Weskamp took the mound. Austin Stuhr added to the York offensive plan Tuesday by reaching base all four times via one single and three bases on balls. Stuhr stole four bases to lead the bankers. York ended the regular season with a 7-13 record and losing eight of its last nine games.
The Juniors begin district play Friday as the fourth seed and take on third-seeded Aurora at 7 p.m. at Levitt Stadium.
