The season has begun. UBC traveled to York's Levitt Stadium to open the 2014 season. As the local news reporter stated it was a tough one to watch with errors, hit batters and walks being the highlight of both games. The juniors started the evening with Andrew Miller on the mound. Coach Staehr was pleased with his first outing on the mound ever! McCauley Jordan and Gage Sinsel was tabbed by there coach as having a good start to the season. Jameson Nickels also gave his squad a lift with a strong double and relief on the mound. The come from behind win gives the junior squad a solid start to the season.
Seniors took to field under the lights for the night cap. Jared miller was called on to start the season. He gave his crew three solid innings handing the ball over to Aaron Beins for a couple innings of relief. York gave the UBC a 4 run lead with the help of a couple of errors. It was in the top of the 4th when they mounted there comeback. with timely hits from Nate Ott, Mitchel Friesen and Tyler Brown they were able to come from behind like their young partners and get the win 7-5.
