The York Seniors knocked off Central City in the first round of York Cornerstone Classic XV by the score of 11-9.  York jumped ahead 7-0 before Central City tacked on six unearned runs in the fourth inning to make a game of it.  Starting pitcher Mason Wright picked up the win and David Jinright notched the save in relief of Nick Weskamp who spelled Wright in the fifth inning. McCauley Jordan had a 3-for-3 evening at the plate and knocked in three runs.  Adding two hits apiece for York were Jordan Grooms and Brennan Cole in the 12 hit attack. The victory was the third in a row for York and moves them to a 1:30 p.m. encounter with David City (11-1) in the semifinal round.


The York Juniors,sparked by a three-run homer by A.J. Beins and a winning mound performance by Bradyn Heiss, peppered the Kearney County team 16-7 Tuesday night in Minden.   Heiss's win is his fourth of the season against one loss.  York, down 6-3, scored 13 runs in the top of the fifth and limited Kearney County to one run in the home half to win the game by the mercy-run rule.  Tyler Wright, Andrew Clark and Keegan Lyons had multiple hit nights to pace York's 11-hit attack. The Junior bankers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Aurora at Levitt Stadium. Friday's doubleheader with Lawrence has been cancelled.

  The York Cornerstone Bankers won a doubleheader Friday night as the Juniors downed the St. Paul squad by a football score of 24-10. Offensively, Noah Boyd and A. J. Beins led the way for York and Creighton Hirschfeld pitched two innings of relief and retired all six batters he faced. Beins had a game-high five RBI to pace the York Juniors.

In the nightcap, the Seniors got three hits off the bat of Dawson Sandall to include a game winning solo shot which came in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Seniors a 13-5 win, a game ended by the mercy run rule.  Mason Wright added three hits in the 10-hit attack and starting pitcher Andrew Miller went five innings to pick up the victory to raise the Seniors season record to 2-5.
